I visit a site called
FreelanceSwitch.com a couple times a week. Its a multi-author blog about business and promotions. They also have a job board with a unique twist. Most job boards make the job poster/employer pay for the job listing. On their site its the other way around. Creating job postings is free, but to apply its $7 per month. Yes, you read that correctly, its $7 per month to apply to the jobs on their site. Thats a different approach to a job board. However if you are looking for work do you really want to fork out money to apply to get a job? I do however applaud their creativity.
Something interesting to note…
I was contacted by a Phillipino guy who I pay $3 an hour through their job site.
With this new method, is it really worth it for him to pay over twice as much as he would get per hour as well as hastle with a paypal account?
I don’t think so!
Oh well, I also applaud their creativity.
I’ve seen this approach before, and I believe it’s absolutely rubbish!
As someone who has used this job board, I think it’s a better way of doing so. Most importantly, it’s a way of weeding out the applicants that won’t pay $7/month to apply for these jobs. If they’re even at least bit busy, then $7/month is nothing… the people that this system weed out are probably not people you’d want to hire.
The quality of responses I’ve received has been better than most other sites.
