Two weeks ago or so our good friend Rhea said that we should make Less Memories a social network. So we took a few more hours and added it last week. Enjoy!

Allan sent me an email on Friday with a link to Jott’s new developer API and said “I want this for Less Memories.” In an hour and a half, it was live. Go to http://lessmemories.com/tools for instructions.

Oh, for those of you who don’t know what Jott is, this will allow you to call Jott’s 800 number and create or edit a memory.

Well, we just couldn’t leave well enough alone…. I spent a few hours yesterday and wrote another tool: AIM integration. Just go to the tools page and enter your AIM user name. then send the registration code, then don’t forget to use it. Have fun!

Thanks to everyone who tried out Less Memories yesterday! We decided to take two more hours and add one more feature: The Magic Button! Go to the tools page and drag the link to your bookmark bar. Next time you are on a web page that has something you want to remember, highlight the text and click the button. Enjoy.

Mad props to our guy “Stoney P” for hacking this out.

Less Memories

For the past few months we have been heads down working on a couple of large projects for clients. Neither of these projects has launched yet. One because they are trying to ramp up their content, and the other because they are trying to get funding. What this means is that we have done a lot of work and not launched anything….not our normal way of doing things.

So yesterday around noon I decide to write and launch a small app. I tried desperately all day long to start it, but it was 9:00 PM before I could write the first line of code. After a couple hours of hacking I handed the app to Allan for design, and then I finished the tests and added the full text search. We launched the app around 2:00 AM this morning.

Say hello to the newest Less App: Less Memories.

This is a simple app whose sole intent is to help you remember things. I have a long list of small odd things that I need to remember but no real good way of doing it. I used to use Stickies and then I switch to SideNote, but after three hard drive crashes I really wanted a web solution, so here it is. Enjoy.

Stats:

Lines of code: around 400

Lines of test code: around 320

Development time: around 7 hours

Design time: around 5 hours

Start to finish: 7 hours

P.S. I pity the fool who uses this as a to do list.
